August, Not Good.
Had a really horrible August when it comes to cycling, just two short rides from August 3rd up until this Tuesday – so needless to say my goals from the beginning of the summer have gone out the window (20-40w 20min power bump, who was I kidding 😄) .
Not to say that August was bad otherwise; spent a lot of time with my nieces, lots of fishing, a bit of work, also rented a speed boat a couple of times with some friends – but it’s just not the same down here when I can’t/don’t feel like riding.
Finally, Some Biking
Got back on the bike Tuesday and Wednesday. The first ride was a real shitshow. It was to hot and I went way to hard in the beginning. By the second hour I was suffering, badly. Cramps galore. Avg heart rate of 150 on 180 avg power for the ride. Just miserable. My walk down to beach after the ride, I must have looked 30 years older. Still, felt great to be back riding.
Wednesday felt a lot better already, with fantastic weather as well.
Tomorrow it’s rain all day, followed by a cold front on Friday and Saturday, with temperatures dropping to 14-15°C. That’s going to feel weird, first signs of autumn is creeping in, and I’m not a fan. I even saw some reports predicting 0°C and snow in the mountains, which seems hard to believe. Fortunately, by Sunday, it’s supposed to climb back above 20°C, so fingers crossed for some great biking weather.
