Ok, so my prediction of only 5 sunny days until the end of the year went out the window my first week home. I think it’s been sunny or partially sunny every day since I got home, one week ago. I’m not complaining of course.
Today was a banger of a day that I had to share. No wind at all, not to cold. Didn’t even have to layer up once my clothes got wet from the sweat (but It was close).
I love the Swedish fall. I’d probably say it’s my favorite period here. Summer is pretty meh. Spring is good, if we get a spring that is. Winter and snow can suck it. Luckily I can spend a big chunk of that time in Croatia ๐
Road biking in Sweden, to me, is this scene from The Sopranos. It’s pretty spot on actually.
It feels like I’ve been riding a fair amount, covered a lot of ground – check the Garmin, and I’ve barely cracked 1h.
In Croatia I can just add a climb and I know I’ve added 30-60 min to a ride without having to think to much about it. Here on the other hand, adding 45 min feels like I’ve been biking for 2h ๐
This ride felt like, at minimum, a 2.5h ride.
Peaking? ๐คจ
But I have to say, it feels really fun on the bike right now – my “slow” days are getting faster at around the same HR.
On the other hand I don’t really have a plan going forward, other then adding a bit more intensity to my weeks and riding as much as the weather and work allows me to. I’d like to have about a 10h/week minimum up until around the end of November. And add at least one day in the gym.
We’ll see how all that goes …
